Birken Lakeside Resort: We love you guys!!
Hey,
We just camped at BLR Properties last weekend and had the best time EVER! We just want to thank Danni and Neil! They were the perfect hosts.
Here is a blog post I did of our camping trip. Please check it out!
Thank you!
"Peaceful area and beautiful lake"

We were looking for a cabin on a lake in the Pemberton area and this place sure met our needs. The cabin was clean and cozy, as was the communal bathroom with showers. The resort was not full when we stayed so it was extremely quiet and incredibly relaxing. The lake was beautiful for swimming albeit a bit chilly because it was the weekend after Labour Day, but our 5 yr old son loved getting to play on the floating docks and in the paddle boat. The hosts were great and very helpful. Only complaint would be that we found our bed too soft, but we loved the area and hope to come back again.
"UNFORGETTABLE STAFF TRIP"
Reviewed 16 September 2013
I had the pleasure of bringing a group of 40 staff members to Birken Lakeside Resort for our annual staff trip for a couple days of camping and team building. The resort site was referred to me by a business associate who highly recommended the location and management team. They were wonderful hosts and made sure we felt welcome to their home and the site was fully equipped to provide the amenities necessary for our group.
The location is great. Its off the beaten path and away from the confines of city life which is exactly what we wanted for our group. No cell phone reception or internet but does not lack in the basic amenities should you need them. You can camp or you can rent one of their great little cabins to cozy up in and drift away in a good book. There is lots of area to explore and the site offered some water toys to play with in the lake that was right across the street
The resort managers were kind, courteous and helpful and I would highly recommend working with this location to anyone looking to organize and great place for staff events, group outings, and/or family trips. Its a great location, friendly staff and perfect place to get away.
Stayed June 2013, travelled on business
"An incredible romantic stay. We even stayed an extra night!"

We were looking for a long weekend getaway and were so delighted at what we found at Birken Lakeside Resort. We have children, busy careers and busy lives. The initial shock of not having cell phone reception or wi-fi was quickly replaced by absolute relaxation. Dani (on site manager) was wonderful and accomodating right from the time of booking. We stayed in one of the themed cabins - The Love Shack and after 2 nights, asked if there was availability to stay a third. The rustic nature of the cabin only added to our enjoyable stay. There is a phone booth however when it came to placing our nightly call to the kids, Dani allowed us to use the house phone and it was a relief to know that the kids could reach us in an emergency so we could enjoy ourselves without worry. Right across a quiet road is the lake and kayaks for our use. We tossed the football around in the field. We had campfires under a star filled sky. We BBQ'd. The bed was so comfortable and we left feeling refreshed and connected. We found the cabins very well priced and our hosts to be lovely. We look forward to our return trip next spring. If you enjoy camping, you appreciate rustic charm and you're looking for a place to re connect as a couple, to meet new friends or just relax in peace, we did it all. This is a gem.
Room Tip: Ask for a tour of the cabins. They each have a character of their own!
